Experimenting and having fun
Fantasy painting - experimenting. I am an admirer of Stephanie Low's artwork. She does fantasy, fairy, mermaid, folk tale painting. I love her ethereal style. I decided to play around and see what happens. This presented itself. I first put in a back ground of Burnt Umber and an iridescent paint and let dry. Then I added drops of paint and let dry. Then I put down a clear ground and let that dry. Then I just started drawing with a pencil what I saw. It is amazing how these little critters just sort of appeared ! It was a fun process and will do again. I will use this for a card background with an ocean theme for sure.

fantasy painting
Having a lot of fun just painting without any idea in mind - I made last night until the wee hours (my husband says I hang from the rafters at night...I really paint).
After I scanned in my painting I brought it into Photoshop and added a scratchy border to make it look older. Not sure I like the effect, but here it is. Would love feedback- which do you perfer?
