Pretty little flowers

I have not made flowers in a long time. I do enjoy making them, but because they are so dimensional I don't use them on much. But I thought some might look nice on a journal cover. They are sparkly but not sure you can see that.

Heartfelt Creations card

I love Heartfelt Creations stamps and dies. They are pretty, sophisticated, and well thought out. I made this card for a friend of mine who has an upcoming birthday. The back ground is an embossing folder from Crafter's Companion. The rest is Heartfelt Creations.  I love making tiny flowers. To be honest, I love making any flowers. This flower is from the Lush Lilac collection. They also make great Hydrangeas.
Happy Crafting!

Pretty birthday card

Sometimes it's good to get back to basics. A card is a basic in my book and I do enjoy making them. With all my ridiculously insane amount of craft/stamp supplies, I feel like a real slug when I buy a card instead of making one. Anyone else feel that way?

Anyway, I made this one today for my granddaughter who is turning 14 today. Much more 'grown up' then my past cards I've made for her. But she is starting high school (how the heck did THAT happen?!?) in the fall, so no more kiddie cards for her!

The supplies I used are a mish-mosh of items. The card stock is a retired Stampin' Up color.  I used the Tim Holtz sun ray stamp with milled lavander distress ink. Flowers are the Martha Sterwart hydrangea punch. I added tiny glass diamonds to each one. The heart is a Martha punch too. The large purple flower is a Fiskar punch. The happy birthday banner is Stampin' Up die and stamp set I just received yesterday.

B2B - Cherry blossoms birthday card using embossing technique

Using flowers that I made awhile back, I made this pretty card last night. The blue strips are washi tape and the rest is paper. For the blue background, I used an embossing technique. First I embossed the paper with clear embossing powder. Then I painted in the small flowers and leaves with watercolors. Then I used a brush and brushed in the blue color. Below is a red arrow that shows the embossed area.

Embossing is one of those techniques that I learned over a decage ago and haven't used for years. Lately I am getting Back to Basics (B2B), and embossing is one of those B2B techniques.

pretty little card

I feel like I have multiple personalities when it comes to crafting. I love the grungy, vintage look, I love steampunk, and I love pretty, frilly, shabby...what's a crafter to do when she love so many styles? Embrace them all!! So I do.

The is a card I made using the cherry blossoms I made. The little picket fence is from Paper Tray Inc, (thank you Elaine for turning me onto them!) I'll use a 1/2 thick box/envelope to mail it or the blossoms will be crushed.
