This is a small watercolor (4" x 6") I painted from a photo my friend took while she was in Italy. I love the photo because of the old building and the laundry. I used a salt technique on the walls of the building to imitate the look of the ancient masonry. By sprinkling salt on wet watercolor, it absorbs color and makes the mottled look, as it dries. Also, while the paint was still wet, I charged in more colors for variety.
