published!

I am happy to say that six of my pieces were recently published in Somerset Gallery, Summer 2009 issue! I had submitted the art for a call for paper dolls in Somerset Magazine. My submission was put in this special issue, which is a quarterly magazine. I was thrilled to see three pages of my artwork! It is somewhat surreal to me to see my art published in a magazine. The thrill is always exciting. The validation is so needed- I think artists in general work in a isolated world, so it's so nice to receive the validation that your ideas in art making speak enough to others to publish them. I am always humbled by the experience too.
If you happen to have this magazine, I'm on pages 9 - 11, "The Women of the Beatles". I made paper dolls based on the women in several Beatles songs.

Congratulations, Elizabeth. I'll be sure to look for this issue. It always feels good to be validated. Thank you for your kind words on my blog regarding Nina's book/necklace class. I can see why you liked the Frozen Charlotte doll page the best as you love dolls also.
Take care
Diana

Congrats to you!!! I wish I could get a copy, it's just so darn expensive to order them and have them sent over here. Last time I ordered two of their issues I ended up paying $15 to have them sent.
