more angel ornaments

Here are two more Frozen Charlotte Angel Ornaments from my Narrative Doll Series. They are about 15" long with their skirts and chain. I really enjoy making these! These were sold to an art gallery in Bothell, Oregon- Art and Soul Gallery.

angel ornaments for Christmas

Before I sent out a large order of my Narrative Doll series to the Art and Soul Gallery in Bothell, Oregon, I took some pictures to post here. I love how they turned out! Each one was different and unique. Here are just two from the order-

new Angel Ornaments on etsy

I've listed three angel ornaments for sale in my etsy store.

I really have fun making these angel ornaments as part of my ongoing Narrative Doll Series. Each one is unique. I think I love "Faith" the most of these three because I am a sucker for German glass glitter! I love how it ages and becomes ancient looking in a matter of days.

"Grace" - I used a drawer pull for her wings.

"Faith" - love her German glass glitter wings!

"Magical" - so sweet with her small wings!

Narrative Dolls - GRACE

Grace

One more in my series of Narrative Dolls. This one is different as I used a vintage drawer pull as the angel wings. The handle is removed and I used the holes to connect the chain to the wings. If you turn her over you can see the lock hole.

Frozen Charlotte Christmas Ornament

This is a Christmas ornament I made using a Frozen Charlotte doll, chain and metal wings. The little bell twinkles and it sounds so sweet! The two beads are vintage glass as is the lace skirt. She is available at my etsy shop. SOLD

tiny frozen charlotte dolls

what is it about these little dolls that I love so much? I love that they were made at the turn of the century (or older!). I love that they were dug out of the ground in Germany. I love that I was able to buy them directly from Germany, from the person who dug them up. I love that each one is slightly different. I love that they come in many sizes.

If you would like your own tiny Charlotte doll- I am selling some on my etsy shop.

German Frozen Charlotte dolls

I am so excited!

I recently bought an entire lot of German dolls and doll parts. They have arrived and my mind has been spinning with ideas and images! I stayed up until past 1 am last night working on my first assemblage doll using one of the beautiful heads.

Since I bought more than I can use (my husband had that deer-in-the-headlight-look when I told him just how many I bought!), I will be selling them in my etsy shop.

I bought these directly from Germany. The old abandoned doll factories have hundreds of dolls buried on the grounds from 1860's - 1910. Today there are people who are now digging them up, as they have become very collectible and are getting harder and harder to find. The man I bought these from in Germany said the Frozen Charlotte's come from the Limbach doll factory.

Frozen Charlottes are named after a girl who lived in Maine who froze to death on New Years Eve night because she would not wear a coat outside. Sad story!
