Back lit

Yesterday was hot and sticky here in Delaware by the beach. So I stayed inside and had fun with a new die set. The set creates a tunnel card- a 3-D card that folds flat for mailing. I added the large red mushroom with fairly from a stamp set as it needed some sort of focal point. I am pleased with the result. My head is now spinning with more ideas to use this set.

Happy Crafting!

new card for a birthday

I love this card...It makes me feel peaceful and quiet inside.
Isn't it amazing how a simple card can evoke that in a person?
I would love to take a walk right there in this card...

I needed a birthday card for a family member and so I made this yesterday. The design isn't mine; I copied a card I made at a Stampin' Up get together last year.

supplies used:
Various dye inks
Technique: masking, die cutting

...and two more cards using IO diecuts

The back ground paper is from Heartfelt Creations. I added fine lines of glue to the swirls and flowers and then sprinkled fine glitter on top. The result is really pretty- a subtle sparkle.

card making fun...

This is the first card I made using the patterned paper die cuts I posted in my last post. I used a punch circle to mask the area for a moon, then I used several different colors to create the sky. The white land is glittered and pictures just never show the shine of glitter.  I stacked everything to give the card a dimensional look.

hearts out of hearts...

...so let me explain...

a few years ago my granddaughter was spending time at my house. She loves to play in my studio when here, and on this day, she painted several large hearts on a piece of paper. Me being Grandma, I saved the hearts. Today while going thru my papers to see what I could die cut using my new Heartfelt Creations die set, I found those hearts...and here they are. I think they are so pretty! So I am going to put them in a card and mail them to her...I think she will be pleasantly surprised!
