baby card

I am all about Anna Griffin these days. I love her style, opulence, layers and classic look to her cards. I made this in her style. I used her background die, the rattle and the saying stamps and dies.
The roses I made using Altenew 'Vintage Rose' stamp collection. I fussy cut the roses and added a touch of glitter. I really love how it turned out.  It is 5x7 in size, which I currently enjoy making.

I was invited to a 'sip and greet' to meet a new baby. This is the card I made for that event. The mom is an English gal who lives in Connecticut and I think she will like the traditional feel of this card.

simple card. I premade the roses awhile back. I like to do that- make lots of embellishments. Then I have them when I want to put together a quick card, like this one. The roses are from Altenew. Another great company. There are so many out there! I love them all.

Fantasy Magnollias

Using the # Altenew stamp and die set "Magnolias", I made this card. The flower I stamped using a light color distress ink. I used the distress ink so that it would react with water when I painted the stamped image with watercolors. I used reds, oranges and browns for the flower. That way, there is no line of the flower stamp.

Magnolias don't really appear in this color, but isn't that part of the fun- paint a magical fantasy color flower? The paper- I LOVE the background paper! It's from Stampin' Up, one of their designer papers. First I stamped the flower on 140# watercolor paper. Then I painted it and die cut it out. I also stamped and die cut the leaves. The stem I just drew, painted and fussy cut. The flower needed a little pop so I added a strip of washi tape and that did the trick. I picked up the orange in the designer paper with the orange cardstock. The "Thank You" is embossed white on vellum paper.

Altenew flower cards

So, after making a bunch of roses and cherry blossoms, I made some cards. I love the shabby feel of them. The roses and cherry blossoms have glitter but you cant see that on the photos. I added a little bling here and there. The top card is a watercolor background I painted. The bottom two are using the Prima Ledger card stock pack. I used vellum for the greeting and used white embossing powder. The stamps are from Altenew, my new favorite stamp company!      #Altenew
