down load and print...could it be any easier??

Not feeling crafty but still want some funky Halloween decorations?

I've just listed in my etsy shop a digital collage sheet of my handmade Vintage Witch Halloween gift tags. Once paid via Paypal, I'll email you a high-resolution .jpg file. Just print them, cut them out, add a bit of ribbon and you have 9 fantastic gift tags!

The images were originally ATC's that were published in the premier issue of Somerset's Holiday and Celebrations national magazine. I remade them into gift tags.

Forgiveness

forgiveness, digital collage

Forgiveness - I dreamed of it last night. The details are vague, but I remember the intense feelings of relief I felt. I am not sure if I was doing the forgiving, being forgiven or forgiving myself...but does it matter? It's all good. It's all necessary. Life works better for me with forgiveness.

Be with Joy - more digital collage

Be with Joy
digitally altered watercolor painting on ephemera

I really like how this turned out. I started with a scanned image of a watercolor painting I painted last week on ephemera. Then I brought it into photoshop and added all kinds of brushes and worked on the lighting to create a focal point- the butterfly. The butterfly is some clipart I have. I find this image calming and peaceful.

There is a fine line in digital collage- one can go overboard so easily. With limitless effects, layers, and general hoopla that is possible in the digital world it is easy to get carried away and end up with a mess!!

Taking DJ Pettitt's online photoshop class has me madly playing with phtoshop- the very reason I signed up for the workshop!

colored backgrounds

I painted backgrounds today. Then I scanned them in and made these three digital collages for fun. I'll use the backgrounds for lots of things.

The bee represents immortality in many cultures. Our children are the closest thing to immortality one can ever hope for...

Digital Collage # 3

poppies, digital collage

This is the third digital collage from my most recent magazine article about creating digital collages. I enjoy the digital world almost as much as I enjoy paper and glue! The creative process is the same. The choice of papers are limited to my stash of scanned papers, which at this point is not so limiting! To read the entire article and to learn more about digital collage, pick up a copy of Somerset's Digital Studio Magazine - Vol. 3, Autumn '09.

digital collage

pears, digital collage

This is one of three of my digital collages published in the current issue of "Digital Studio". I also wrote an article explaining how I make digital collages using scanned ephemera. It's a beautiful magazine with lots of helpful articles and beautiful digital artwork and scrapbook pages. Pick up an issue get creating in the digital realm!

welcome spring

I can smell it in the air, feel it in the wind...Spring is really here...ahhhh...One of my daughters gave me beautiful tulips for Easter. I used part of a photo of them in this digital collage. I am hooked on digital collage/scrapping at the moment.

digital collage

Fairy Chenoa, digital collage

Last night I was reading the newest issue of Somerset Digital Studio, and was inspired to mess around and make a digital collage using some of my photos. I ended up with this collage of my granddaughter as a little fairy. I used brushes to make the background for texture. If you have this magazine, check out my article on page 102 about digital ATC's.

for two very special daughters

I made this digital collage for my two daughters.
They are both grown adults and living on their own.
I am very proud of both of them.

analog meets digital

I created this digital collage using original artwork of mine- a paper collage and a watercolor painting. Using brushes, layers and digital noise, I then made it all new. I like how this turned out.

daily painting and collage

This was fun- I first painted a watercolor of the crab apple blossom on 140 lb paper. Once it was dry, I scanned it and then brought it into Photo Shop and created layers- first layer is the vintage script seen on the petals. (Side note: the script is handwriting from my G-G-G-Grandmother who was born in 1829!) The short poem I found in a 1906 first year spelling book. I then added the word "potential", as that is the word that kept coming to mind as I was creating this. I wish I knew someone who was graduating, as I think this would make a great graduation card.
Here is the painting before I brought it into Photo Shop-
