New article in ADQ

see me on pages 110 - 111

Talk about eye candy! Even if you are not a doll maker- the latest edition of Art Doll Quarterly is beautiful! The folks at Stampington do a wonderful job with their photography. The Feb/March 2010 issue is now out. The cover doll is amazing- part of a series called "Exquisite Corpse Dolls". How cool is that?

I am honored to have my Frozen Charlotte Angel Ornaments featured in this issue on pages 110 - 111.

Digital Collage # 3

poppies, digital collage

This is the third digital collage from my most recent magazine article about creating digital collages. I enjoy the digital world almost as much as I enjoy paper and glue! The creative process is the same. The choice of papers are limited to my stash of scanned papers, which at this point is not so limiting! To read the entire article and to learn more about digital collage, pick up a copy of Somerset's Digital Studio Magazine - Vol. 3, Autumn '09.

digital collage # 2 from article

American Beauty, digital collage

I was very happy with how Digital Studio magazine used this digital collage I created for an article I wrote - they gave it a full page spread! How cool is that?

Pick up your own copy of Digital Collage magazine and check out my article. There are hundreds of digital images, art and layouts in this amazing magazine!

Article in Digital Studio

I've just received my comp issue of Digital Studio with my most recent article and artwork. I am quite pleased how they set up the article and the artwork- it is four pages in length. The magazine hits the news stand on September 1.
I wrote an article about creating digital collages using digital papers and there are four examples of my own digital collages in the article. I'll post the art soon.

published!

I am happy to say that six of my pieces were recently published in Somerset Gallery, Summer 2009 issue! I had submitted the art for a call for paper dolls in Somerset Magazine. My submission was put in this special issue, which is a quarterly magazine. I was thrilled to see three pages of my artwork! It is somewhat surreal to me to see my art published in a magazine. The thrill is always exciting. The validation is so needed- I think artists in general work in a isolated world, so it's so nice to receive the validation that your ideas in art making speak enough to others to publish them. I am always humbled by the experience too.
If you happen to have this magazine, I'm on pages 9 - 11, "The Women of the Beatles". I made paper dolls based on the women in several Beatles songs.

Published!

I was happy to learn that my art is published in Somerset Studio Magazine!

It is an odd feeling for me to turn a page and see my artwork in a magazine. It is sort of sureal - kind of like I don't quite believe it. I am almost detached from it. I wonder what THAT is about??

Anyway, I was given one whole page in the July/August issue, page 109. :-)
