German Frozen Charlotte dolls

I am so excited!

I recently bought an entire lot of German dolls and doll parts. They have arrived and my mind has been spinning with ideas and images! I stayed up until past 1 am last night working on my first assemblage doll using one of the beautiful heads.

Since I bought more than I can use (my husband had that deer-in-the-headlight-look when I told him just how many I bought!), I will be selling them in my etsy shop.

I bought these directly from Germany. The old abandoned doll factories have hundreds of dolls buried on the grounds from 1860's - 1910. Today there are people who are now digging them up, as they have become very collectible and are getting harder and harder to find. The man I bought these from in Germany said the Frozen Charlotte's come from the Limbach doll factory.

Frozen Charlottes are named after a girl who lived in Maine who froze to death on New Years Eve night because she would not wear a coat outside. Sad story!

I've loved travelling around your site. The collage work is wondeful and the colour on the site ravishing.
