time, 4.5" x 6" mixed media
"Time runs with an ax and a hammer,
time slides down the hallways
with a pass-key and a master-key,
and time gets by, time wins."
~Carl Sandburg
The older I get the more I guard my time. I am no longer willing to waste my time. I am a woman of a certain age, and so I can now faintly see the end of the tunnel off in the distance.
The older I get, the faster time goes. I can remember how long a summer felt when I was eight years old; that wonderful time when summer lasted forever. I thought I would last forever too.
Now, I blink and the tress are starting to turn autumn yellow on their tops and it seems as if the snow just melted last week...and now I know my time here is not forever either.
