To better learn about the human figure and painting it, I've joined an online challenge offered by Donna Zagotta. I am excited about it as it serves several things for me:
1. gets me painting on a regular basis- how easy it is for me to just get away from painting, even though I love it- what's up with that??
2. to improve my observation skills- it is not as easy as it sounds to paint a silhouette- we tend to want to add eyes, nose...details...the idea is to do just the silhouette to express the movement
3. to have fun!
4. to learn about the human figure- proportion and anatomy to become confident in quickly doing a gesture drawing/sketch. I know that painting silhouettes will really help me in this area.
