Halloween Haunted House

As soon as the air cools, I turn to Fall. And Fall means Halloween. I adore making Halloween houses and cards. This is a house I made using the Tim Holtz house die series. I made individual house siding pieces a bluish gray to resemble an old neglected house. The shingles are enameled with black and gold and cut into separate shingles. The pumpkin is polymer clay. The doors are embossed, painted with black beads for the door handles.  I entire house is cardboard and paper, including the fencing and the base.   Overall it is quite small.  The base on which the house stands measures 4.5" x 4.5" (11.4 cm x 11.4 cm). The house stands at 6" (15 cm) on the base.  It was great fun to make!

Glitter houses aka Putz houses

I have always loved Putz houses. As a kid my neighbor had a church Putz house and I was fascinated with it. It sat on their mantle and I wanted to pick it up in the worst way. It was all glittery and I found myself staring at it. I imagined walking up to a glittered church and how wonderful that might be.

So now I make them. This one is glittered in blue glue. I love the tiled roof and the cute Santa. I used the Tim Holtz die to make this little house. More to come!  This one is blue. I added snow to the base. I leave the house unattached to the base so a battery tea light can light it up from the inside. Then the real magic begins!

Friends

"The road to a friend's house is never long."

I made this piece awhile ago. It now hangs in my sister's kitchen. I love this little piece of art. Isn't it true about friends?
